Network Engineer SMART

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Broadcom (EMC SMARTS/VMware SMARTS) fault monitoring applications.
• Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions for OSS/BSS applications.
• Estimate project effort based on high-level designs and technical specifications.
• Upgrade and maintain fault monitoring platforms, integrating new features and technologies.
• Collaborate with vendors for product upgrades, support, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain applications using Java, REST APIs, SOAP, React, Python, Perl, PL/SQL, and Shell Scripting.
• Perform system integration, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues reported by internal and external users.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including release notes, deployment guides, and code version control.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate fault monitoring with other network management systems.
• Identify opportunities for application performance improvements and automation.
• Follow Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure applications meet quality, security, and performance standards.
• Support microservices, containerized applications, and Kubernetes-based deployments where applicable.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
• 58 years of experience in application development, preferably in Telecom OSS/Fault Monitoring solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Broadcom (EMC SMARTS/VMware SMARTS) applications.
• Strong knowledge of OSS/BSS architecture and telecom network operations.
• Proficiency in Java, REST, SOAP, React, Python, Perl, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix Shell Scripting.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of Microservices, Docker/Containers, and Kubernetes is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with application integration, deployment, and production support.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
