Job Description

Role & responsibilities :-

  • Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and network infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage Layer 2 switches, basic Layer 3 routing, routers, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, trucking, STP, Ether Channel, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and static routing.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime using network monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
  • Support uninterrupted connectivity for HIS, EMR, PACS, LIS, RIS, CCTV, IP Telephony, Biometric, and other hospital applications.
  • Perform switch and access point installation, replacement, firmware upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain structured cabling, fiber optic connectivity, network racks, and patch panel management.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for circuit issues and network-related support.
  • Maintain network documentation, IP address management, asset inventory, topology diagrams, and technical reports.
  • Perform scheduled configuration backups and assist during disaster recovery activities.
  • Monitor firewall and VPN health, escalate complex security policy changes to senior engineers when required.
  • Follow IT security policies and assist in implementing network security best practices.
  • Provide on-call support during network outages and planned maintenance.
  • Collaborate with System Administrators, Biomedical Engineers, and the IT team to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations.

Preferred candidate profile:-

  • Good understanding of Ethernet, VLANs, STP, RSTP, Ether Channel, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and basic routing.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Juniper, Fortinet, Sophos, or similar networking equipment.
  • Familiarity with wireless networking, access points, and wireless controllers.
  • Basic knowledge of firewall operations and VPN connectivity.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a 247 hospital environment.
  • Experience in organizations or large enterprise environments is preferred.
