National e-Governance Division
Overview
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is a division within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It was created to support MeitY in implementing e-Governance projects and initiatives across the country. NeGD provides strategic direction, technical assistance, and capacity building to various government departments and agencies for the successful implementation of e-Governance programs. It plays a key role in promoting digital inclusion and empowering citizens through technology.
About Us
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), established as an Independent Business Division under Digital India Corporation (a Section 8 company of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India), supports MeitY in implementing the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). NeGD advances the 'Digital India' vision by empowering the government to deliver efficient and effective citizen-centric services through Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This involves providing technical assistance, strategic guidance, and capacity building to various government departments at the national and state levels. NeGD plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing e-governance projects across different sectors, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and security.
