Overview
Michelin, officially known as Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin SCA, is a French multinational tire manufacturer based in Clermont-Ferrand, France. It is the second-largest tire manufacturer in the world behind Bridgestone. In addition to tires, Michelin manufactures tires for automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, earthmovers, farm equipment, and bicycles. Michelin is also known for its Red and Green travel guides, its road maps, the Michelin stars that the Red Guide awards to restaurants for fine dining, its culinary ranking systems, and for its historical patronage of the Citroën automobile company.
