Job Description

Insurity s Next Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join the Policy Decisions engineering team in our Noida office. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer who can move comfortably from product intent and technical design to working code, automated tests, deployment, and production support.

Policy Decisions is evolving through a modern, API-first approach across policy configuration, data models, rules, rating capabilities, rate tables, versioning, environments, and user-facing experiences. You will help shape that evolution while enabling the team to deliver quickly, safely, and with high engineering quality.

A defining part of this role is using modern AI-assisted engineering tools to increase delivery speed and quality. We expect you to be comfortable using tools such as Replit and Claude-or comparable tools-to explore ideas, build prototypes, develop applications, troubleshoot issues, and deploy production-ready solutions. AI tools are accelerators, not substitutes for engineering judgment: you will be expected to validate generated output, protect sensitive information, test thoroughly, and make sound architectural decisions.

What Our Lead Software Engineer Will Do

  • Lead technical delivery for significant Policy Decisions capabilities from discovery and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
  • Translate product and business requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions that fit Policy Decisions and broader Insurity architecture.
  • Design and develop services, APIs, integrations, and user experiences using C#/.NET, Web APIs, React, SQL, and Azure.
  • Use Replit, Claude/Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and similar AI-assisted tools to prototype, accelerate development, investigate defects, and improve engineering workflows.
  • Establish practical patterns for safe and effective AI-assisted software development, including code review, testing, security, observability, and documentation.
  • Lead design discussions, technical reviews, code reviews, and solution trade-off decisions across engineering, product, architecture, UX, QA, and delivery stakeholders.
  • Break complex problems into implementable increments and help the team maintain momentum in an evolving product environment.
  • Build maintainable, scalable, reusable, operable, and usable software while reducing technical debt and unnecessary complexity.
  • Develop automated tests and partner with QA to identify impact, improve coverage, and left-shift quality.
  • Support CI/CD, cloud deployment, environment management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
  • Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and raise the team s standards for design, coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Contribute to estimation, planning, technical documentation, delivery forecasting, and communication with stakeholders.
