Lead Business Analyst Insurance Domain (BIA Platform)

Role Summary
We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst with strong Insurance Domain expertise to drive solution design, domain consulting, and business analysis leadership for our platform Beyond Insurance Accounting (BIA).
This is a role, requiring:
- Deep understanding of insurance lifecycle (Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance)
- Strong knowledge of insurance accounting and sub-ledger processes
- Ability to act as functional SME for clients and internal teams
- Ownership of end-to-end solution design and delivery
Key Responsibilities
Domain Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Act as SME for insurance processes and accounting within BIA platform
- Drive domain-driven solution design across:
- Policy lifecycle (NB, Endorsements, Renewals)
- Premium processing & bordereaux
- Commission and broker accounting
- Cash management & reconciliation (BAI2, bank feeds, remittance)
- Reinsurance and financial reporting
- Define and validate chart of accounts, accounting rules, and financial flows
Solution Design & Consulting
- Translate client requirements into scalable insurance solutions
- Design end-to-end business workflows (As-Is / To-Be)
- Conduct impact analysis for product gaps and enhancements
- Provide domain consulting to clients during implementation
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Lead client workshops, requirement discussions, and solution walkthroughs
- Engage with business stakeholders, finance teams, and IT teams
- Act as bridge between domain, product, and engineering teams
Delivery Ownership & Governance
- Own requirement lifecycle (elicitation documentation validation)
- Ensure alignment with:
- Business expectations
- Product capabilities
- Technical feasibility
- Support UAT, reconciliation validation, and sign-offs
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor Business Analysts on domain and platform knowledge
- Establish best practices for requirement writing and domain modeling
- Review functional designs, user stories, and solution approaches
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 812 years of experience with strong insurance domain expertise
- Hands-on experience in:
- Insurance accounting / sub-ledger systems (BIA preferred)
- Premium processing, reconciliation, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of:
- Chart of Accounts (COA)
- Financial postings & accounting rules
- Bordereaux / technical accounting flows
- Expertise in:
- Requirement modeling (UML, Use Cases)
- Process modelling (BPMN)
- Process transformation (As-Is / To-Be)
Background (Mandatory Domain Focus)
Preferred: Insurance Domain Background
- Experience with:
- Insurers / MGAs / Brokers / Reinsurers
- Insurance platforms (PAS, Billing, Accounting systems)
- Transition into Business Analyst / Functional Consultant role
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery models
- Strong global stakeholder management experience
- Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Visio
- Exposure to:
- Digital transformation programs
- Lloyds market
- Automation / ingestion (USM, bordereaux processing)
