IL&FS Skills Development Corporation

IL&FS Skills Development Corporation Limited (IL&FS Skills) is one of India’s largest vocational and employability training companies. It is a joint venture between IL&FS Education and Technology Services Limited (IL&FS Education) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Started as a pilot program for the textile sector, IL&FS Skills was set up in 2011 to address the increasing demand of trained manpower for newly created jobs. Today, we have skilled 1.5 million people, with more than 300 skill training institutes linked to a network of over 2000 employers across sectors. We aim to train 4 million people for employment by 2022. Contributing to India’s Social Economic Growth: 49% of our successful trainees are women, largely from the backward regions of the country. We have trained people from 540 districts in India, including Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts, Jammu & Kashmir, the North-East Region, and other remote areas, empowering them socially and economically. We transform communities through placement-linked skill development, livelihood creation, entrepreneurship, and self-employment. With a strong focus on holistic capacity building, IL&FS Skills programs have improved standards of living not only for the trainees but also for their families and communities. The induction of our women trainees into the country’s workforce through jobs of dignity and safe working conditions has also benefited their families and brought about a shift in their overall attitude towards skills. We offer skill development programs in more than 100 trades. They are delivered through our network of training institutes, IL&FS Institutes of Skills (IIS), which are equipped to give students hands-on training in industry-simulated training labs that are mapped to the shop floor. Supplementary training in functional English, digital literacy and life skills marks our commitment to help students become completely job-ready.Our multimedia training modules, designed by experts to industry-endorsed National Occupational Standards (NOS), are available in 18 languages. They are delivered through our patented multifunctional device K-Yan, ensuring effectiveness and interactivity.
