Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Hardware Tech Lead to lead our growing Product Engineering Services team in industrial applications. While the primary focus is on industrial-grade systems, experience in avionics or automotive electronics is a strong advantage. The Tech Lead will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end hardware development, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring high-quality project execution while also contributing to organizational growth through hiring and mentoring.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 8-10 hardware engineers working on multiple projects.
- Review and guide the design and development of robust and reliable hardware systems for industrial applications.
- Ensure adherence to design standards, industry regulations (FCC, CE, MIL-STD, DO-160, etc), and project-specific quality goals.
- Own the technical delivery of projects from concept to deployment, ensuring timelines, budgets, and specifications are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, and systems engineering to ensure seamless product integration.
- Conduct technical reviews, design audits, and system-level validation.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and development processes.
- Define and implement best practices for design documentation, configuration management, and version control.
- Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Support project managers with technical planning, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to ongoing or upcoming projects.
Qualifications:
- bachelors or masters degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in hardware development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Strong expertise in industrial-grade hardware design (power electronics, control systems, embedded platforms, etc).
- Familiarity with avionics or automotive and medical domain is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout tools (eg, Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCAD).
- Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, SoMs and high-speed digital designs.
- Solid understanding of compliance and qualification standards (eg, MIL-STD, DO-160, FCC).
- Proven leadership in managing technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
