Firewall Engineer (L2)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer (L2) to manage, monitor, and support enterprise firewall infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), security policy management, troubleshooting, and incident resolution in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for enterprise firewall infrastructure and security devices.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewall technologies such as Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
• Implement and manage security policies, ACLs, NAT rules, and VPN configurations (IPSec/SSL VPN).
• Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security events to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Perform incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate with OEM vendors for troubleshooting, TAC support, and escalations.
• Implement security changes, firmware upgrades, and patch management activities.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and audit requirements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless operations.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Check Point, Fortinet, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Firewall Policy Management
  • NAT and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
  • IPSec and SSL VPN
  • TCP/IP, Routing, and Switching concepts
  • Network Security and Threat Management
• Experience in troubleshooting complex firewall and network security incidents.
• Knowledge of ticketing tools and ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
• Good understanding of log analysis and security monitoring tools.
