Overview

The ESI Act 1948, encompasses certain health related eventualities that the workers are generally exposed to; such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent disablement, Occupational disease or death due to employment injury, resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity-total or partial. Social security provision made in the Act to counterbalance or negate the resulting physical or financial distress in such contingencies, are thus, aimed at upholding human dignity in times of crises through protection from deprivation, destitution and social degradation while enabling the society the retention and continuity of a socially useful and productive manpower.

Mission

To provide for certain benefits to Employees in a case of sickness, maternity and employment injury and to make provisions for related matters. We are committed to: 1.Augmenting better coordination and awareness of the Scheme among all stakeholders of the Scheme and 2.Bringing improvement (i)Towards prompt delivery of services to Insured Persons and Employers. (ii)Towards Prompt handling of Grievances. (iii)Towards bringing better work environment in our offices. (iv)Cleanliness towards the upkeep of our offices and office records. 3.Expansion of the Scheme to new areas and new sectors of employment. 4.Developing potential skills and positive human relations (through Training and interaction among all involved in the Scheme.) 5.Usher in changes in delivery mechanisms by making the Administration of Health Care delivery more accountable and cost effective. 6.To build mutually beneficial linkages between ESI Hospitals and other reputed public and private hospitals to provide a complete range of medical services to our clients (stakeholders). 7.To ensure optimum utilization of infrastructures of Hospitals and Dispensaries and opening up of spare capacity to nonI.Ps on user charges. 8.Introduce greater flexibility in the provision of health care social security benefits to employees.
