Job Description

  • Direct experience with the DALI lighting control protocol or Zhaga interoperability standards
  • Experience with tilt/accelerometer sensors or other environmental sensor integration in outdoor IoT products
  • Direct experience with Quectel BG96/BG95 (QAPI) and/or Telit M2MB platforms
  • Experience with both LLVM/Clang and GCC ARM embedded toolchains
  • Experience taking over/maintaining a codebase originally written by a different team or vendor
  • Prior work in outdoor IoT, smart infrastructure, or utility/lighting control domains.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • Master's degree (M.Tech/MS) in a related field is a plus, but not required; relevant industry experience is considered an equivalent substitute.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • 5–8+ years of embedded C development, with demonstrated ownership of production firmware subsystems
  • Deep RTOS experience (ThreadX strongly preferred; otherwise FreeRTOS/Zephyr/embOS with willingness to ramp up)
  • Strong MCU/embedded fundamentals independent of any single vendor SDK: interrupts, memory maps, linker scripts, peripheral register-level programming, sensor interfacing (I2C/SPI), and the ability to bring up understanding of a new chip/platform from its reference manual and existing code
  • Demonstrated ability to inherit and support firmware you did not write — reverse-engineering intent from code, git history, and observed hardware/sensor behavior when documentation is incomplete
  • Experience with IoT protocols: MQTT (pub/sub, QoS, keepalive tuning) and device management protocols (LwM2M, TR-069, or similar)
  • Experience with cellular modem platforms (Quectel, Telit, or similar) and AT command interfaces
  • Track record debugging low-level issues: memory corruption, race conditions, watchdog/reset analysis, sensor/MCU communication faults
  • Experience with FOTA/firmware update design and secure boot/update integrity
  • Strong code review and mentoring skills.
