Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas was founded on May 11, 2015, under the leadership of Mr. Cyril Suresh Shroff, a third-generation lawyer and the firm’s Managing Partner. It is the largest full-service law firm in India, with over 750 lawyers, including around 130 partners, and offices in India’s key business centres – Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. The firm traces its professional lineage back to 1917, and the establishment of Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. (AMSS). Following considerable growth in the practice over the course of the century, Mr. Suresh Amarchand Shroff led a period of consolidation through the 1970s and 1980s, securing the firm’s preeminent role in India’s legal sector. This was followed by a further period of exponential growth, including the launch of several offices, from 2002. During this time, in 1994, Mr. Cyril Suresh Shroff took over as the Managing Partner of the Mumbai region of AMSS, helping to build a firm of unparalleled experience and reputation in the Indian legal fraternity. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas is set up on the foundation of this outstanding legal practice.
