Consultant Neurosurgeon

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment:
  
• Evaluate patients with neurological conditions through physical exams, diagnostic tests, and imaging studies (MRI, CT scans, etc.).
  
• Review patient medical history and determine the appropriate course of action.
  
• Surgical Procedures:
  
• Perform complex surgeries involving the brain, spine, and nervous system.
  
• Conduct emergency procedures for trauma patients (e.g., head injuries, spinal cord injuries).
  
• Utilize minimally invasive techniques when appropriate.
  
• Pre- and Post-operative Care:
  
• Develop treatment plans and communicate surgical risks and benefits to patients and families.
  
• Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, and manage complications.
  
• Collaboration and Coordination:
  
• Work closely with neurologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to determine optimal patient care strategies.
  
• Documentation and Compliance:
  
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
  
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and surgical protocols.
