OFB
The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) was an Indian government-owned corporate body that was responsible for the production and supply of arms, ammunition, and explosives to the Indian Armed Forces. It was a significant player in India's defense industrial base, operating numerous factories across the country, each specializing in different aspects of ordnance manufacturing. The OFB's activities encompassed the entire lifecycle of ordnance production, from research and development to manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain management. Its products included a wide range of items, including artillery shells, small arms ammunition, explosives, propellants, and other defense-related equipment. The OFB was dissolved in 2021, and its functions and assets were transferred to seven newly formed Public Sector Companies (PSCs).
