Chinmaya Mission

Chinmaya Mission is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of Vedanta, the universal wisdom of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and other Hindu scriptures. Founded in 1953 by devotees of Swami Chinmayananda, it aims to provide individuals from all walks of life with the knowledge and practical means for spiritual growth, personal transformation, and peaceful coexistence. The Mission achieves its goals through various educational, spiritual, and social service activities conducted across its numerous centers worldwide.

While decentralized, key administrative and academic hubs include Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) in Veliyanad, Ernakulam, Kerala, India (the global research and academic center), and Chinmaya Kedar in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India (the Himalayan spiritual retreat).
Chinmaya Mission operates as a vast global network with over 300 centers worldwide, spread across more than 30 countries. It is supported by thousands of dedicated full-time volunteers (Swamis and Brahmacharis) and countless part-time volunteers and members, reaching millions of individuals globally through its diverse activities and institutions.
