Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Established in 1946 as the Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS), it was renamed in 1992 in honor of its founder, Professor S.P. Agharkar. ARI is dedicated to conducting cutting-edge research in various areas of life sciences and fostering scientific education and training.
