Indian Institute of Public Health
The Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) comprise a network of independent academic and research institutions established by the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). These institutes are dedicated to strengthening public health education, training, and research to address India's pressing public health challenges and contribute to a healthier society.
About Us
- The IIPHs were conceived as a strategic response to the critical shortage of skilled public health professionals in India. - Each institute within the network focuses on developing a robust public health workforce through various academic programs, including Masters in Public Health (MPH), Postgraduate Diplomas, and PhDs. - They also conduct interdisciplinary research, provide capacity building, and offer policy support to national and state governments, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders. - Operating under the broad umbrella and guidance of PHFI, the IIPHs aim to create centres of excellence for public health learning and practice, fostering evidence-based approaches to health interventions and policy formulation.
Vision
To be a premier network of public health institutions globally, fostering innovation, generating transformative evidence, and building ethical leadership for a healthier and more resilient India.
Mission
To advance public health in India through excellence in education, training, research, and advocacy, contributing to equitable health outcomes and the development of a resilient public health system.
