
Central University of Mizoram
Central University of Mizoram, also known as Mizoram University (MZU), is a public central university located in Aizawl, Mizoram, India. It was established on July 2, 2001, by an Act of Parliament (The Central Universities Act, 2007) as a central university, taking over from the erstwhile Mizoram Campus of North-Eastern Hill University. The university aims to provide higher education, promote research, and contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of Mizoram and the broader North-Eastern region of India. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines.

To emerge as a premier institution of higher learning, recognized for academic excellence, innovative research, and significant contributions to societal development, particularly focusing on the unique needs and cultural heritage of Mizoram and the North-Eastern region of India.
Mission
To disseminate knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in various disciplines; to make special provisions for integrated courses in humanities, social sciences, science and technology, and other allied disciplines; to promote innovations in teaching-learning processes and inter-disciplinary studies; to educate and train manpower for the development of the country; to establish linkages with industries and other organizations; and to promote the study of tribal life and culture with special reference to Mizoram.
