Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) is one of the ten subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), a 'Maharatna' Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. Established in 1986, NCL is a leading coal producer primarily engaged in the mining and production of coal, particularly for the power sector. It operates large open-cast mines in the Singrauli coalfields spread across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, India, playing a crucial role in meeting the nation's energy demands.
About Us
NCL was carved out of Central Coalfields Limited and Western Coalfields Limited in 1986 to manage the rapidly expanding coal mining operations in the Singrauli region. It has since grown to become one of the most productive subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, consistently achieving and surpassing its production targets. NCL focuses on employing advanced mining technologies and machinery to enhance productivity and efficiency.
