Job Description
A Cloud Network Engineer with a Cisco CCNA /CCNP background and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) expertise designs, deploys, and manages secure hybrid-cloud network connections. Key responsibilities include configuring multi-cloud virtual networks, establishing BGP routing between on-premise data centers and public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP), and troubleshooting connectivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture: Build scalable Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, and transit gateways across platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- BGP Routing & Peering: Configure and optimize BGP routing policies for redundant, high-availability hybrid links (such as AWS Direct Connect or Azure ExpressRoute).
- Network Security: Implement firewalls, security groups, Network Access Control Lists (NACLs), and VPN tunnels.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Diagnose packet loss, latency issues, and routing loops using standard CLI diagnostic tools and packet analyzers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certifications: Valid Cisco CCNA /CCNP certification or equivalent foundational networking knowledge.
- Protocols: Strong hands-on experience with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and DNS/DHCP.
- Cloud Platforms: Practical experience with AWS (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), Azure (ExpressRoute), or GCP.
- Automation Basics: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) or scripting (Python) is a strong plus.
