Strong knowledge BIW Closures parts design using CATIA V5.
Strong knowledge of BIW design and development of body closures from concept to production stage.
Able to develop master sections and feasible study.
Door opening / articulation study, Door hinge Axis layout, Door components packaging study.
Basic knowledge in door / closures assembly kinematics.
Ability to work with styling teams to convert design concepts into manufacturable parts.
Good understanding of sheet metal parts material, manufacturing process, assembly, crashworthiness.
Good knowledge in GD&T, sheet metal tolerance, DFM & DFA.
Optimize the designs for weight reduction, cost efficiency and manufacturing without compromising the performance.
Provide design solutions based on CAE feedback.
Liaison with supplier teams for validation and release.
Experience in benchmarking, packaging studies, and defining optimal design solutions.
Strong problem-solving, project management & communication skills.

Ability to take independent technical decisions based on engineering requirement.
