Job Description

An Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Research Methodology is a faculty member who is responsible for teaching, research, and service in the field of biostatistics and research methodology. Their primary duties include developing and delivering course content, conducting research and scholarship, and mentoring and advising students.

 They may also participate in departmental meetings and committees, stay current with advancements in the field through ongoing professional development, and collaborate with other faculty members and researchers in the field. The Assistant Professor must assess student performance and provide feedback to support their growth and development, and contribute to the development and maintenance of academic programs and initiatives. The ultimate goal of the Assistant Professor is to support student learning, contribute to the advancement of the field of biostatistics and research methodology, and promote the departments mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to students in the field of biostatistics and research
  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lectures and tutorials
  • Assist students in understanding complex mathematical and statistical concepts
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students who need additional support
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them improve
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong background in biostatistics, mathematics, and research
  • Experience in teaching and conducting research in biostatistics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to mentor and advise students
