Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Labour Law Compliance:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable Central and State labour laws.
  • Maintain statutory registers, records, notices, and displays as prescribed under applicable laws.
  • Monitor compliance calendars and ensure timely completion of statutory activities.
  • Support implementation of compliance requirements under applicable labour legislation.

Contractor Compliance

  • Monitor statutory compliance of contractors engaged at the plant.
  • Verify monthly documents submitted by contractors, including Wage Register, Attendance Register, PF Challans
  • ESI Challans, Salary Slips, Bank Transfer Proof, Bonus and Leave records
  • Maintain contractor compliance scorecards.
  • Report non-compliance to the higher HR Officials.

Statutory Returns & Filings:

  • Assist in preparation and submission of statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
  • Coordinate with consultants for online filings wherever applicable.
  • Maintain acknowledgement copies and filing records.

Government Inspections

  • Prepare documents required during inspections by government authorities.
  • Coordinate with inspectors under applicable labour laws.
  • Maintain inspection registers and compliance reports.
  • Assist in closure of inspection observations.

Compliance Audits

  • Support internal and external statutory compliance audits.
  • Prepare compliance reports and supporting documents.
  • Track closure of audit observations.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly statutory compliance reports.
  • Maintain compliance dashboards.
  • Track due dates and compliance status.
  • Report exceptions and potential risks.

Preferred candidate profile


  • Bachelors Degree (B.A. / B.Com / B.Sc.) from recognized University with a specialized diploma in Labour Laws & Administrative Law or Industrial Relations.
  • 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in HR Compliance, Statutory Compliance, and Contractor Management within a manufacturing/factory set-up.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code
    • Code on Social Security
    • Employees' Provident Fund (EPF)
    • Employees' State Insurance (ESI)
    • Payment of Bonus
    • Labour Welfare Fund
    • Contract Labour compliance requirements
    • Apprenticeship-related statutory provisions (where applicable)
  • MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint
  • HRMS / ERP systems
  • Labour compliance portals
  • Digital documentation and record management
