Job Description:

IC(Individual Contributor) role - This job is responsible for developing and delivering requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of Mainframe batch/online applications, programming languages such as COBOL/JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and commonly used Mainframe tools.

Software Engineer role within GM Post Trade Technology is responsible for analysis, programming, and implementation of changes in diverse mainframe-based applications. Ability to unit test and integration test all the changes effectively. Ability to collaborate with other programmers. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery.

• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.

Required qualifications:

• 4+ years of developing/supporting Mainframe based applications.
• Programming experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and Online/Batch programming.
• Experience with DB2 Stored Procedure a Plus
• Skills in using NDM/FTP, OPC/TWS, File Manager, SPUFI, QMF, IDz, Endevor.

Desired qualifications:

• Good communication skills, both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams and management.
• Have a flexible and 'can do' attitude and a strong sense of initiative with the ability to learn fast and deal calmly with situations under pressure.
• Knowledge of BMC Remedy or IT Service Management Tool.
• An understanding of Agile Methodology would be beneficial.
