ROLE OVERVIEW :
As an Architect Warehouse Management / Extended Warehouse Management (WM/EWM), you will serve as the strategic and technical lead for designing scalable, high-performing, and sustainable WM/EWM solutions.
You will be working closely with business and IT stakeholders to translate complex warehouse operations requirements into architectural blueprints, driving alignment with enterprise standards and ensuring successful delivery and support of WM/EWM capabilities within the broader supply chain ecosystem.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Education and Certifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Certifications in SAP WM/EWM, TOGAF, or related architecture frameworks, Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP) is a plus.
Required Experience :
- 9 to 12 years of experience in designing and implementing IT solutions, with a minimum of 4 years focused on SAP WM/EWM.
- Should have solid experience on WM.
- Strong background in warehouse operations and logistics, coupled with deep technical understanding of WM/EWM system design.
- Demonstrated experience in SAP S/4HANA and integration with related modules (MM, WM, SD, TM).
- Deep understanding of De-Centralized Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and its role in designing scalable, integrated supply chain solutions within SAP ecosystems.
Essential skills :
- Expertise in SAP WM/EWM architecture and configuration.
- Strong understanding of system integrations, middleware, and interfaces (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs).
- Ability to define non-functional requirements related to performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues into actionable items.
- Experience in cloud-based deployment models (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori and UI5 applications related to EWM.
Desired skills :
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies in warehouse environments (e.g., IoT, automation systems).
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data models and simplifications relevant to EWM.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Strategy and Planning :
- Translate business goals and supply chain strategies into comprehensive EWM solution architectures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations aligned with warehouse management objectives.
- Develop and maintain architectural standards and roadmaps for WM/EWM and related domains.
Delivery and Execution :
- Configure and customize SAP MM and WM modules to meet business requirements.
- Monitor and optimize inventory management processes using SAP MM and WM functionalities.
- Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design for EWM projects, including greenfield implementations, rollouts, and enhancements.
- Work with product managers, business analysts, and development teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and technical integrity.
- Oversee creation of technical documentation, solution blueprints, and design artifacts.
Support and Enablement :
- Provide deep technical support during implementation and post-go live phases, troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing performance.
- Assist in the integration of WM with other SAP modules like SD & MM.
- Ensure solution designs are aligned with enterprise architecture and operational support frameworks.
- Guide teams in best practices for system sustainability, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
People Leadership :
- Provide architectural mentoring and guidance to cross-functional technical teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including vendors and system integrators, to drive shared outcomes.
