Job Description

The Opportunity: ApplyBoard is seeking a Website Developer to support one of our school partners in Florida to build, maintain, and continuously improve web presence across all digital properties. This role plays a key part in delivering fast, accessible, and conversion-optimized web experiences.
You will partner closely with marketing, content, and campaign teams to translate ideas into high-performing web pages and features. You'll ensure websites are technically sound, aligned with brand standards, optimized for search and performance, and built to scale with the business.
What You'll Be Doing Every Day:
  • Build and maintain web pages using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress or equivalent)
  • Apply SEO best practices including semantic HTML, metadata, structured data, and performance optimization
  • Ensure all web properties meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
  • Optimize performance using Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and image optimization
  • Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, HubSpot) to evaluate performance and inform improvements
  • Manage version control and deployments using Git/GitHub or similar tools
  • Maintain and troubleshoot integrations, forms, plugins, and third-party tools
  • Manage hosting environments, DNS, and SSL certificates as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and design teams
  • Maintain documentation for site architecture, standards, and workflows
  • Stay current with emerging web technologies and recommend improvements
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in web development or website maintenance
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar
  • Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility (WCAG 2.1)
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Basic understanding of hosting environments, DNS, and SSL
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to translate non-technical requirements into effective technical solutions
