Virtualization Engineer | Night Shift (USA Time Zone)

Job mission:

You will join a dynamic team responsible for a largescale virtualization infrastructure with over 10,000 VMs running on the most common

virtualization technologies. Alongside shared platforms, the team also manages dedicated infrastructures hosted in Cegeka data centers or

directly on customer premises.

Location: Chennai

Work Model: Night Shift USA Alaska Time Zone

Responsibilities:

As a Virtualization Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Incident & Problem Resolution troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization ensure stability, scalability, and efficiency of virtual environments.
• Client VM Data Migration & Upgrades manage seamless transitions and platform upgrades.
• Infrastructure Design & Deployment contribute to architecture, setup, and expansion of virtualization platforms.
• Security & Compliance maintain standards in line with ITIL and corporate policies.
• Collaboration & Documentation create/maintain clear technical documentation.
• The team operates Monday to Friday with a flexible schedule, plus weekly rotation for 24/7 standby coverage.

Candidates must possess:

• Bachelors degree in information technology (or related field).
• 5+ years of proven experience with server virtualization, especially VMware ESX(i).
• Good understanding of networking and shared storage concepts.

Nice to have:

• Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft HyperV, Oracle Virtualization, Etc.
• Automation skills: PowerCLI, Ansible, Python, or JavaScript scripting.
• Cloud integration experience: hybrid setups (VMware + Azure/AVS).
• Medium Linux knowledge.
