About the Role
We are hiring a Video Editor - Kannada with strong fundamentals in editing and storytelling to work on promotional content for microdramas and short-form fiction. This role focuses on crafting high-retention, performance-driven promos trailers, short clips, and ad creatives that quickly establish emotion, conflict, and curiosity. The ideal candidate understands pacing, rhythm, and visual storytelling, and has exposure to Kannada Language.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form promotional videos for microdramas and fictional content across platforms (Meta, YouTube, Shorts, Reels).
- Translate scripts and audio narratives into visually compelling, fast-paced video promos.
- Build strong openings (first 2 5 seconds), clear narrative progression, and effective visual payoffs.
- Use captions, overlays, transitions, sound design, and music to enhance emotional impact and clarity.
- Ensure visual consistency with brand guidelines while adapting edits for different formats and platforms.
- Collaborate closely with promo writers, growth marketers, and creative teams to iterate based on feedback and performance.
- Manage multiple edits simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Core Requirements
- Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in promos, trailers, or short-form storytelling content.
- Strong command over video editing fundamentals: pacing, timing, framing, continuity, and rhythm
- Basic know-how of graphics (fast-paced, quick cuts, GFX SFX, etc)
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
- Ability to understand narrative intent and translate audio or script-based stories into engaging visuals.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience editing content for microdramas, OTT promos, short films, fiction content, or performance marketing creatives.
- Fluency in Kannada, or prior experience working on Kannada-language or international-facing content.
- Familiarity with US or global content consumption patterns (short-form, binge-driven storytelling).
- Working knowledge of motion graphics, typography, or basic animation.
- Experience editing content optimized for social platforms and ad creatives.
- Exposure to AI-assisted tools for visuals or workflows is a plus (not mandatory).
