Job Title: ETL Developer

Experience : 8-15 Years


ETL Developer is responsible for the technical quality and successful, timely delivery of assigned projects, including designing, developing, maintaining, and documenting enterprise data warehouse solutions, ETL pipelines, database objects, and scalable data integration solutions. This role requires expertise in PL/SQL development, Python programming, ETL technologies, and cloud-based data platforms. The Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage multiple technical initiatives, and provide technical guidance to both onshore and offshore development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and document enterprise Data Warehouse solutions, ETL processes, and data pipelines using Python, PL/SQL, and industry-standard ETL tools.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and performance-tuned SQL queries to support business applications and data warehouse processes.
  • Design and implement scalable data architecture and data pipelines that ensure high data quality, integrity, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain database objects, perform data modeling, and implement efficient database designs following industry best practices.
  • Build and optimize ETL jobs using tools such as Talend, SSIS, or similar platforms.
  • Perform data transformations, source-to-target mappings, and implement Change Data Capture (CDC) and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
  • Analyze and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code, troubleshoot database performance issues, and implement indexing and query optimization strategies.
  • Extract, transform, and load data using Oracle, MongoDB, Redshift, or other enterprise databases based on business requirements.
  • Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, leveraging services including S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, Business Analysts, and Data Analytics teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and deployment activities while following CI/CD best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to both onshore and offshore teams.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and applicable regulatory requirements, including PBM v2.2 URAC standards.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Data Warehousing and ETL development.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Data Engineering projects.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL development
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Python programming for data engineering and automation.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of query optimization, execution plans, indexing strategies, partitioning, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience designing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.
  • Strong understanding of database design, schema management, data modeling, and data architecture.
  • Experience with Oracle, MongoDB, Redshift, and other relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience developing ETL processes using CDC, SCD, and data transformation techniques.
  • Experience deploying ETL solutions across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data engineering services, including AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, or equivalent Azure/GCP services.
  • Experience with REST APIs and data integration frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience using Git or other source control systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare, pharmacy, or PBM data environments.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
