Job Description

Role Description:

Arcadis India is hiring an Urban Planner to contribute to visionary planning and placemaking projects across scales from large-scale master plans to streetscape design for our Architecture and Urbanism (A+U) practice. The role involves contributing to strategic and design-led urban planning projects across multiple scales ranging from city and regional plans to transit-oriented development (TOD), urban regeneration, and public realm frameworks. The position plays a key role in delivering context-sensitive, inclusive, and sustainable urban solutions through integrated planning and design processes.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Prepare design concepts, visualizations, and master plans across urban regeneration, transit-oriented development, and smart cities.
  • Prepare and support urban planning proposals including master plans, precinct plans, TOD frameworks, land-use plans, and development control guidelines.
  • Undertake spatial analysis, policy review, and data-driven assessments to inform planning strategies and urban design outcomes.
  • Translate statutory requirements, client objectives, and site conditions into coherent planning and urban design frameworks.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, landscape architects, and mobility experts to deliver integrated design outcomes.
  • Translate client needs and site conditions into robust urban frameworks.
  • Lead design workshops and stakeholder consultations.
  • Support detailed design documentation, urban guidelines, and 3D massing studies.
  • Contribute to competitions, bids, and research initiatives.

Qualifications Experience:

  • Master s degree in Urban Planner with 0 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of planning principles, land-use planning, TOD, urban regeneration, and public realm development.
  • Proficiency in writing skills and reporting.
  • High proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp; GIS experience is a plus.
  • Ability to visualize planning and design ideas clearly and compellingly.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and public realm projects is desirable.
