Role & responsibilities

Unit Head: Involves strategic leadership, daily operations, financial management, and staff development for a specific hospital section, focusing on efficient patient care, compliance (NABH/JCI), revenue generation (P&L responsibility), implementing SOPs, and fostering a performance-driven culture, requiring strong leadership, business acumen (MBA/MHA often preferred), and experience in healthcare management. Key duties include overseeing clinical/admin functions, marketing, managing budgets, ensuring quality standards, and acting as a liaison with senior management and medical directors.

1. Operational Management:

Oversee all daily activities (clinical, nursing, admin, billing, facilities) and ensure smooth functioning per SOPs.

2. Financial Management:

Assume P&L responsibility, manage budgets, control costs, identify revenue opportunities, and meet financial targets.

3. Strategic Leadership:

Assist in long-term planning, develop profitable service lines, and implement best practices.

4. Patient Care and quality:

Ensure high-quality, efficient patient care, implement safety protocols, and enhance patient satisfaction.

5. Staff and Team Management:

Mentor HODs, build performance-driven teams, manage recruitment, and provide training.

6. Compliance and Standards

Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations (NABH, etc.) and internal policies.

7. Business Development:

Drive patient inflow, build corporate/doctor networks, and manage marketing efforts.
