Transverse Reporting Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a reporting expert to design, develop, and optimize dashboards and reports across Power BI and ServiceNow platforms. This role will support Infrastructure teams by delivering high quality, data driven insights, ensuring accuracy, performance, and continuous improvement of reporting capabilities.

Key Activities

• Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and deploy Power BI and ServiceNow dashboards ensuring visualization best practices.

• Data Model Management: Create and maintain robust data models, integrating multiple sources and transformations.

• ServiceNow Reporting: Build and maintain ServiceNow reports, dashboards, Performance Analytics, and custom widgets.

• Requirements Gathering: Translate Infrastructure domain needs into technical reporting solutions.

• Report Production: Deliver scheduled and ad hoc reports with accuracy and timeliness.

• Dashboard Maintenance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize dashboards for performance and evolving requirements.

• Continuous Improvement: Enhance dashboards with new metrics, improved visualizations, and UX optimization.

• Data Quality Assurance: Validate data accuracy and consistency, resolving quality issues with source owners.

• Documentation Knowledge Sharing: Document models, specifications, and best practices; provide training to users.

• Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI (DAX, queries) and ServiceNow reporting for efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the reporting expert for Infrastructure teams on Power BI and ServiceNow platforms.

• Manage the complete reporting lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, maintenance, and improvement.

• Build and maintain ServiceNow native reporting solutions including reports, dashboards, and custom applications.

• Ensure dashboards meet quality standards for accuracy, consistency, performance, and accessibility.

• Drive continuous improvement by introducing new metrics, visualization techniques, and automation opportunities.

• Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on reporting capabilities, interpretation, and self service analytics.

• Collaborate with BI teams, data engineers, and IT stakeholders to ensure integration, governance, and compliance.

Mandatory Skills Experience

• Power BI Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling.

• ServiceNow Reporting: Strong proficiency in ServiceNow Report Designer, Performance Analytics, dashboards, and custom widgets.

• ServiceNow Platform Knowledge: Understanding of ServiceNow architecture, CMDB tables, relationships, and scripting.

• Data Modeling: Experience with star/snowflake schemas, transformations, and relational database concepts.

• Integration Skills: Ability to integrate ServiceNow data with Power BI and external sources.

• Visualization Best Practices: Strong grasp of UX/UI principles for dashboard design.

• ITSM Metrics Knowledge: Familiarity with availability, incidents, changes, problems, capacity, SLA compliance.

• Performance Optimization: Techniques for optimizing Power BI and ServiceNow reporting.

• Analytical Communication Skills: Ability to solve problems, ensure accuracy, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

• Certifications: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL 300) and/or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) preferred.
