Transport Planner

Position: Manager / Senior Transport Planner Job Location: Bangalore Experience Required: 8 to 12 years Education:

• Masters degree in Transport Planning, Urban Planning, or Transportation Engineering from NIT/IIT, a reputed engineering college, or SPA, with a CGPA of 8.0 or above (or equivalent).

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team as a Manager / Senior Transport Planner. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing transportation projects, interacting with clients, delivering project outputs, leading a team, and contributing to business development. Client Interaction: • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and new clients. • Lead client meetings to discuss project objectives, progress, and solutions. • Deliver regular project updates and reports to clients, ensuring high-quality communication and a client-centric approach. • Address client concerns and provide innovative solutions to their transportation challenges. 2. Project Delivery and Execution: • Lead the execution of transport planning projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. • Oversee the development of transport models, simulations, and traffic impact assessments. • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion. • Ensure that all projects meet the required technical standards and adhere to local and international regulations. 3. Team Management: • Manage and mentor a team of transport planners and engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance. • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the team, ensuring optimal performance and continuous professional growth. • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide support to team members as needed to meet project milestones. 4. Business Development Support: • Assist in business development efforts by identifying opportunities in the transport planning space. • Draft and present proposals for new projects, with a focus on innovative mobility solutions and transport infrastructure planning. • Collaborate with senior management to grow the companys portfolio by expanding service offerings and securing new business. Technical Skills Required: • Transport Modelling: o Proficiency in 4-Stage Modelling and Simulation Modelling for urban and regional transport systems. o Experience with regional transport system modelling using tools such as VISUM, CUBE, or AIMSUN. o Ability to conduct operational assessments of urban transport sub systems/networks using VISSIM, CORSIM, or AIMSUN. • Data Analytics: o Strong skills in data analytics using tools such as Python, Advanced Excel, and VBA Macros. o Ability to derive actionable insights from complex transportation data sets to improve planning and decision-making. • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: o Strong critical thinking ability to evaluate complex transport systems and design solutions for improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability. • Project Management: o Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including resources, timelines, and budgets. o Ability to manage and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution. Role & responsibilities

Proposal Drafting: Proficiency in preparing detailed proposals and project reports,

with an understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of transport planning

projects.

• Client Delivery Management: Experience in overseeing the delivery of client

projects, ensuring client expectations are met while maintaining a high standard of

technical output and professionalism.

• Business Development Acumen: Understanding of business development

strategies, particularly for innovative, future-focused mobility solutions like smart

cities, sustainable transport, and multimodal transport integration.

• Technical Understanding: In-depth knowledge of transport planning concepts,

traffic engineering, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world

problems in transport infrastructure.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a consulting or engineering firm focused on urban and regional

transport planning.

• Exposure to innovative mobility technologies such as autonomous vehicles, electric

mobility, or smart transportation systems.

• Familiarity with traffic flow analysis, land use planning, and the integration of

transportation systems into urban development projects.
