Textile Designer

The Textile Designer is responsible for creating original textile designs and patterns for fabrics used in apparel, home furnishings, or industrial applications. The role involves trend research, concept development, color and material selection, and collaboration with production and merchandising teams to ensure designs meet quality, cost, and brand requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative textile designs, patterns, and surface graphics aligned with brand aesthetics and market trends
• Research fashion, color, fabric, and design trends to create seasonally relevant collections
• Create design concepts using hand sketches, CAD software, and digital tools
• Select yarns, fabrics, textures, and color palettes suitable for each design
• Prepare technical design files, repeats, colorways, and artwork for production
• Collaborate with merchandising, production, and sourcing teams to ensure design feasibility
• Work with vendors and manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs
• Review fabric samples, strike-offs, and lab dips; provide feedback for improvements
• Ensure designs comply with quality, sustainability, and cost standards
• Maintain organized design libraries, mood boards, and material archives
