Test Lead

: Java | Selenium | TestNG | Cucumber | Playwright (TypeScript) | JMeter | Spring Boot | MySQL | Bamboo CI/CD | GCP

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test scripts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG, following data-driven and modular framework practices.

Build and maintain BDD test suites using Cucumber, writing clear Gherkin feature files aligned to business requirements.

Develop cross-browser and end-to-end automation suites using Playwright with TypeScript for modern web applications.

Create and execute API automation test cases using RestAssured/Postman to validate request/response formats, status codes, and error handling for services built on Spring Boot.

Perform database testing and data validation against MySQL, including writing SQL queries to verify data integrity, migrations, and mappings.

Design and execute performance and load tests using JMeter, analyzing throughput, response time, and error rate to identify bottlenecks.

Set up, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Bamboo, using Bash scripts to automate build, test, and deployment stages.

Integrate automated test suites (Selenium/TestNG, Cucumber, Playwright) into the Bamboo pipeline so tests trigger automatically on each build/deployment.

Perform manual validation of deployed services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including verifying virtual machine (Compute Engine) health and Load Balancer routing/failover behavior.

Monitor application and infrastructure health using Grafana dashboards and Prometheus metrics, proactively flagging anomalies during releases.

Create comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and effort estimates aligned with project requirements and release timelines.

Analyze business and technical requirements to identify testable scenarios; collaborate with stakeholders to clarify acceptance criteria.

Design test cases and scenarios using techniques such as boundary value analysis and equivalence partitioning.

Execute functional, regression, and smoke testing cycles; log, triage, and track defects to closure using tools like JIRA.

Collaborate closely with development teams to improve reliability, reduce regression testing time, and increase defect detection rates.

Required Skills Experience

Strong hands-on programming experience in Java for building automation frameworks.

Proven experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Maven-based test projects.

Experience with Cucumber / BDD framework for behavior-driven test development.

Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for UI automation.

Working knowledge of JMeter for performance and load testing.

Understanding of Spring Boot application architecture for effective API and integration testing.

Proficiency in MySQL, including writing SQL queries for backend/data validation.

Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines in Bamboo, with practical Bash scripting skills for build/deploy automation.

Exposure to GCP services, particularly Compute Engine (virtual machines) and Cloud Load Balancing, for manual environment validation.

Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus for tracking application/infrastructure health.

Solid understanding of API testing concepts using RestAssured and/or Postman.

Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and test management tools such as JIRA/TestRail.

Good to Have

Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing strategies.

Exposure to Cypress or other JavaScript-based testing frameworks.

Basic understanding of Docker/Kubernetes for test environment provisioning.

Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain domain applications.
