Test Engineer (C++ / Qt Applications)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with strong experience in manual and automation testing for C++/Qt-based applications. The role involves validating high-performance applications used in imaging, diagnostics, and industrial inspection systems, ensuring quality, reliability, and performance across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end testing (manual + automated) across the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC)
• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts
• Validate applications built using C++ (backend), Qt (UI), and relational databases
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and BA teams for requirement analysis and test strategy
• Understanding of C++ syntax, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and memory management
• Experience in identifying object resource IDs, handling window handles, and interacting with dynamic GUI elements
• Proficiency in languages like Python, JavaScript, or VBScript to write reusable, cross-platform test scripts
• Familiarity with tools like Intel VTune Profiler or WinDbg to analyze memory leaks and crash dumps
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
• Identify, log, and track defects using ALM tools (Azure DevOps)
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for desktop applications
• Ensure performance, reliability, and stability testing of imaging and data-intensive applications
• Leverage AI tools (Windsurf, Cursor) to improve test efficiency and coverage
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates

Technical Skills (Required)

Core Technologies

• Strong experience in C++ application testing
• Experience testing Qt-based UI applications
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL databases (queries, validation, data testing)
• Understanding of client-server and desktop application architectures
• For MFC Applications: Tools like TestComplete or AutoIt

Automation Tools & Methodologies (C++ Focus)

• Experience with C++ unit testing frameworks (e.g., Google Test, Catch2, Boost.Test)
• UI automation exposure using Squish for Qt / Qt Test / similar tools
• Experience using Python/Scripting for test automation (preferred)
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks design (modular, reusable frameworks)
• Experience with CI/CD integration (Azure DevOps pipelines, Jenkins, etc.)
• Familiarity with:
• Test-driven development (TDD) / Behavior-driven development (BDD)
• Continuous Testing practices
• Static and dynamic analysis tools
• Exposure to performance testing and profiling tools for C++ applications

Tools & Platforms

• Azure DevOps (test management, defect tracking, pipelines)
• Version control tools (Git)
• Debugging and profiling tools in Visual Studio environment

AI Tools Familiarity

• Experience using AI-assisted development/testing tools (Windsurf, Cursor)
• Basic understanding of AI concepts such as Agents and MCPs in SDLC context

Domain Exposure

• Exposure to testing applications in:
• Healthcare / MedTech (imaging systems, digital pathology platforms)
• Industrial / Materials science (inspection, semiconductor, or quality control systems)
• Basic understanding of image processing or data-intensive applications
