Senior Application Packaging Engineer (AdminStudio | Intune | SCCM/MECM)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Packaging Engineer with extensive experience in enterprise application packaging, virtualization, deployment, and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in Flexera AdminStudio, InstallShield, Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, App-V, MSIX, PowerShell, and enterprise software deployment processes.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Flexera AdminStudio and InstallShield.
• Expertise in creating, repackaging, customizing, and converting applications using:
• MSI
• MSIX
• MSIX Conversion
• App-V 5.x
• macOS PKG
• Strong experience with Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM deployments.
• Experience in application sequencing using Microsoft App-V 5.0.
• Expertise in source validation, dependency mapping, and OS compatibility testing using clean VM environments.
• Strong troubleshooting experience using:
• ProcMon
• Event Viewer
• CMTrace
• Installer Logs
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills and experience with PSAppDeployToolkit (PSADT).
• Experience working with:
• Orca
• MSI Tables
• Merge Modules
• VB Script Custom Actions
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow (SNOW) and ITIL Framework.
• Experience with Patch My PC for automated packaging, version monitoring, and publishing to SCCM/Intune.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience integrating Flexera AdminStudio with Microsoft Intune for workflow automation.
• Knowledge of MSIX modernization strategies and enterprise migration from legacy MSI/EXE applications.
• Understanding of UWP compatibility and enterprise application modernization initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end application packaging requests from requirement validation through production deployment.
• Perform source validation, packaging analysis, dependency reviews, and complexity assessments.
• Create and customize enterprise application packages using MSI, MSIX, App-V, and PKG formats.
• Execute smoke testing, SQA testing, UAT validation, and production rollout activities.
• Manage application deployments through Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM environments.
• Conduct install, uninstall, upgrade, and rollback testing across Windows 11 and macOS platforms.
• Ensure packaging standards, quality controls, security compliance, and governance requirements are met.
• Manage UAT lifecycle activities including environment preparation, deployment validation, issue tracking, and sign-off management.
• Troubleshoot packaging and deployment issues across development, testing, pilot, and production environments.
• Perform monthly vulnerability assessments and application upgrade activities.
• Maintain packaging repositories, version history, documentation, ServiceNow records, and deployment evidence.
• Support application lifecycle management, application retirement planning, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and recommendations for complex application packaging and deployment challenges.

Preferred Candidate Profile

10-15 years of experience in Application Packaging and Software Deployment

Expertise in AdminStudio, InstallShield, Intune, SCCM/MECM, App-V, and MSIX technologies

Strong experience in PowerShell automation and enterprise endpoint management

Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills
