System Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with 5 to 7 years of experience, based in Pune. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting capabilities and hands-on experience in database interaction.

Roles and Responsibility

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system integration.
• Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented Python code following best practices.
• Design and execute database queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Integrate Python scripts with relational databases for batch and near real-time processing.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Optimize scripts for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely fixes.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Support deployment and execution of scripts in Linux/Windows environments.

Job Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python (scripting, modules, packages).
• Experience with Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, requests, json, os, logging.
• Fair knowledge of SQL.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL / SQL Server).
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with file handling (CSV, Excel, JSON, XML, logs).
• Experience working in Windows & Linux/Unix environments.
• Version control using Git.
• Experience with ETL/data processing pipelines is a plus.
• Exposure to REST APIs (consuming or integrating via Python) is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of shell scripting is advantageous.
• Experience with job schedulers (Cron, Control-M, Airflow, etc.) is desirable.
• Understanding of logging, monitoring, and error handling frameworks is beneficial.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is a plus.
• Ability to design and execute SQL queries for reporting and analysis.
• Understanding of indexes, constraints, and performance tuning basics.
• Experience handling large datasets.
• Knowledge of transactions and data consistency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced delivery environment.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Experience in banking, financial services, analytics, or enterprise applications is preferred.
• Prior experience in automation, data engineering, or reporting solutions is beneficial.
