Job Description
- In\- depth\ knowledge of Windows OS and Linux (Centos, RedHat, Oracle\ Linux, Ubuntu) .
- 6\-8 years professional systems maintenance\ experience in Windows & Linux operating systems including\ installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows & Linux servers\ including demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, upgrades,\ migrations, and maintenance
- Proven experience installing, supporting and\ troubleshooting Linux \/Windows\ on various hardware makes\/models as well as in virtualized environments
- Strong knowledge of SAN storage technologies.
- Strong experience with system management tools, logical\ file systems, and server environments.
- Experience with monitoring, metrics, and log\ aggregation and visualization tools (Nagios, Zenoss in particular)
- Experience with the Unix CLI, debugging tools, and\ network stack.
- Excellent\ knowledge of FTP, TCP\/IP, LDAP, DNS, SNMP, SSL, IIS, AD, and IPSec.
- Maintain\ Virtual environments, including on\-premises (Hyper\-V\/VMware\/OVM )\ and Azure\/Oracle cloud platforms .
- Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure \- Azure or\ Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Working knowledge of core networking, subnetting,\ Firewalls, and routing.
- Implement and maintain configuration management and system hardening controls .
- Perform automated and manual backup and restorative\ processes.
- Functional knowledge of core network protocols such as\ TCP\/IP, SSH, SMTP, NFS and DNS
- Ability to write and edit scripts to automate regular\ operational tasks
- Knowledge and experience with shell scripting
- Solid understanding of Linux & Windows based\ operating system including paging and swapping, inter\-process\ communication, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts\ (inode, clustering, logical partitions), etc. is a must
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a\ team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to\ maintain detailed documentation.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast\-paced\ environment.
- Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility.
- Must be creative and can look at problems from multiple\ vantage points.
- Ability to multi\-task, prioritizes workload, and\ successfully handles competing deadlines
