Support Engineer

Job Purpose:

A Python Application Support Engineer with 34 years of hands-on experience in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing backend applications and enterprise solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Python, database management, asynchronous task processing, and Linux-based deployments, with a focus on system stability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

1. Maintain, support, and enhance existing applications built using Python and Django.
2. Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes in a timely manner.
3. Monitor system performance and optimize application reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
4. Manage and optimize database operations in PostgreSQL.
5. Support and maintain background job processing using Celery.
6. Handle deployment, server configuration, and application hosting on Linux environments using Nginx.
7. Perform bug fixes, minor enhancements, and feature updates based on business requirements.
8. Support integration with third-party APIs and internal enterprise systems.
9. Maintain logs, monitor errors, and proactively address production issues.
10. Collaborate with business users and technical teams to ensure smooth application operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1. 5-8 years of professional experience in Python application development/support.
2. Strong hands-on experience with Django and Bootstrap CSS.
3. Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including query writing, optimization, and troubleshooting.
4. Experience with Celery and scheduled/background task management.
5. Good understanding of Nginx and Linux server environments.
6. Experience in debugging, log analysis, and performance monitoring.
7. Familiarity with Git-based workflows and version control.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting applications in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Understanding of manufacturing workflows such as production planning, inventory management, and quality processes.
