Store Manager - Books, Stationery and School Sales

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day store operations and ensure smooth functioning of the shop.
• Drive sales and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Manage inventory, stock inward/outward, replenishment and regular stock checks.
• Plan and manage school-season sales, book lists and bulk orders.
• Supervise store staff, attendance, task allocation and discipline.
• Ensure proper display, cleanliness and overall store upkeep.
• Handle daily cash, billing, UPI/card reconciliation and basic store accounts.
• Coordinate stock requirements, returns and vendor-related follow-ups.
• Share regular sales, stock and operational reports with management.

Preferred candidate profile

• 3-6 years of retail experience, preferably with 1–2 years in a supervisory or store-in-charge role.
• Experience in books, stationery, school supplies or other high-inventory retail preferred.
• Good understanding of inventory control, billing and cash handling.
• Able to manage staff and independently handle store operations.
• Basic computer and retail billing software knowledge.
• Responsible, organised, customer-focused and comfortable working during peak school seasons.
