Job Summary
Acts as the technical owner and final escalation point for enterprise storage platforms. Responsible for architecture, performance, scalability, security, and lifecycle management of block and file storage across production environments. Leads major incidents, capacity planning, platform upgrades, and standardization initiatives.
About the Role
Own architecture, design, and governance of storage platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and enforce storage standards and best practices
- Lead major incident resolution and root-cause analysis
- Perform capacity forecasting and performance optimization
- Design and oversee high-availability and DR storage solutions
- Plan and execute storage upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management
- Ensure security hardening, compliance, and audit readiness
- Review EOL/EOS risks and drive remediation plans
- Mentor and guide L1/L2 storage teams
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams on platform initiatives
- Final escalation point for storage-related issues
- Owns design decisions, platform roadmap, and stability
- Drives continuous improvement and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in enterprise storage platforms: NetApp FAS / AFF HPE 3PAR / Primera / Alletra
- Strong hands-on experience with SAN and NAS architectures
- Advanced knowledge of SAN fabric, zoning, and multipathing
- Storage architecture design and standardization
- Capacity planning, performance optimization, and scalability design
- Experience with storage security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance
- Strong troubleshooting skills and major incident RCA leadership
- Experience supporting 24×7 enterprise production environments
Required Skills
- VMware / virtualization integration with storage
- Automation or scripting exposure
- Experience in regulated / audit-driven environments
- Knowledge of backup and DR integration with storage platforms
