Staff Nurse

Role & responsibilities

Strong knowledge of neonatal care protocols (including NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

• Competency in operating NICU equipment (incubators, ventilators, CPAP, syringe pumps, phototherapy units).
• Compassion, patience, and emotional resilience to care for critically ill newborns.
• Excellent observation, reporting, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills to interact with doctors and parents effectively.

• Provide round-the-clock nursing care to preterm, low birth weight, and critically ill neonates.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, ventilator support, IV infusions, and feeding tubes.
• Assist neonatologists in procedures such as intubation, surfactant administration, line insertions, and resuscitation.
• Administer prescribed medications, fluids, and nutrition accurately and safely.
• Ensure aseptic techniques during all interventions to prevent neonatal infections.
