As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing and building scalable software systems that support HERE s products and services.

In this role, you will:

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver features
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to system design decisions
Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues
Continuously improve development processes, tools, and frameworks

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, with 5+ years of professional data engineering experience.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Hands on experience building AI powered applications (RAG, AI Agents, prompt engineering, vector databases, semantic search, LLM integrations).
Experience using AI assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Amazon Q).
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala
Experience designing and developing modern full stack web applications with scalable, responsive architectures.
Experience integrating AI capabilities into web applications (conversational interfaces, intelligent search, recommendations, workflow automation).
Proficiency with version control systems (GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
Strong knowledge of data structures, OOP concepts, and SQL.
Knowledge of quality management, end to end test strategy, or Six Sigma (plus).
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities.
Strong project and program management skills.
