Role Overview

The Senior QA Engineer at Binary will be the owner of QA function , responsible not just for testing but for building a structured QA culture across all projects. This person will set up QA processes, introduce tools, train juniors, and act as the quality gatekeeper for all deliveries.

They will ensure that all Shopify stores, SaaS products (APPBiT, Report Desk AI, BiFIX, Priivy), and ERP\/SAP\/3rd party integrations are released with zero critical defects, strong documentation, and client confidence.

Key Responsibilities

1. QA Process Setup Governance

Define Binary\ QA SOP (test plans, cases, UAT sign\-offs, defect reporting).

Enforce QA Gate Checklist before every release.

Introduce structured QA documentation in Zoho Projects.

2. Manual Integration Testing

Design and execute test cases for:

o Shopify core flows (cart, checkout, payments, returns).

o ERP\/OMS\/SAP integrations (inventory, invoicing, refunds).

o API\/webhooks (Postman).

Validate cross\-browser, cross\-device, and responsive behavior.

3. Automation Tools

Build initial automation regression pack (Cypress\/Playwright).

Automate smoke tests (login, checkout, payment, OMS sync).

Integrate tests into CI\/CD (GitHub Actions).

4. Training Mentoring

Train junior QA testers on structured test case writing and bug reporting.

Conduct QA knowledge sessions for PMs\/Devs (why QA matters).

Review juniors\test execution defect logs.

5. Client UAT Sign\-offs

Prepare UAT checklists for clients.

Support client testing sessions with structured reporting.

Collect formal UAT sign\-offs before go\-live.

6. Quality Metrics Reporting

Track and report: defect leakage, test coverage, regression pass %, release readiness.

Weekly QA report for leadership

Requirements
Required Skills Experience

5+ years of QA experience (at least 2 years in automation).

Strong manual testing expertise in eCommerce, SaaS, or enterprise applications .

Hands\-on experience with automation tools: Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman (API testing) .

Experience in cross\-browser\/cross\-device testing (Chrome, Safari, iOS, Android, etc.).

Knowledge of CI\/CD integration (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).

Proficiency in bug tracking\/project management tools (Jira, Zoho Projects, Trello).

Familiarity with performance\/security testing tools is a plus (JMeter, OWASP ZAP).

Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Domain Knowledge

Shopify\/Shopify Plus platforms.

ERP\/OMS\/WMS\/API integrations.

SaaS product workflows.

Mobile app (iOS\/Android) testing

Required Skills Experience

Experience: 4\6 years in QA (at least 1 in automation).

Domain Knowledge: eCommerce (Shopify, Magento, Woo), SaaS workflows, ERP\/OMS\/Payment integrations.

Tools Tech:

o Manual: Jira\/Zoho Projects, TestRail\/Sheets.

o Automation: Cypress\/Playwright, Selenium (optional).

o API: Postman, Newman.

o CI\/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins.

o Performance: JMeter (basic).

Soft Skills:

o Strong documentation and process\-driven mindset.

o Client\-facing confidence to lead UAT.

o Coaching ability to train juniors.
