Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Job Description:


1. MEP Project Execution:

  • Lead the complete execution of all MEP works, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, ELV Systems, Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS), Building Management System (BMS), and associated utilities.
  • Ensure execution of MEP activities as per approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Coordinate daily site activities to achieve planned construction milestones.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, workmanship, resource deployment, and work progress.
  • Ensure proper sequencing and integration of MEP works with civil, architectural, and interior activities.
  • Resolve execution-related technical issues in coordination with consultants, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion and handover of MEP systems.

2. Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate with Project Management Consultants (PMC), architects, consultants, civil teams, vendors, contractors, utility agencies, and hospital stakeholders.
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all MEP contractors and vendors.
  • Review interface issues among various engineering disciplines and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor compliance with approved construction methodologies and project requirements.

3. Quality Assurance, Testing & Commissioning

  • Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved specifications, drawings, NABH requirements, and applicable statutory regulations.
  • Supervise quality inspections throughout execution.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, quality checklists, and inspection records.
  • Monitor site acceptance tests (SAT), testing, balancing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate integrated testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
  • Ensure preparation and verification of testing and commissioning reports.
  • Monitor punch point closure before project handover.

4. Planning, Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of MEP works.
  • Review construction schedules and provide inputs for project planning.
  • Identify delays and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
  • Provide inputs for Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), and management review presentations.
  • Coordinate progress reviews with consultants and contractors.

5. Documentation & Record Management:

Maintain complete project documentation, including:

  • Drawing transmittals
  • Technical submittals
  • Material approvals
  • Inspection reports
  • Testing and commissioning reports
  • Vendor correspondence
  • Request for Information (RFI)
  • Site Instructions
  • Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
  • Method Statements
  • Inspection Checklists
  • Agenda and Minutes of Meetings (MOM)
  • Equipment manuals
  • As-built drawings
  • Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals
  • Handover documentation

6. Contractor & Vendor Management:

  • Manage performance of MEP contractors, suppliers, and specialist agencies.
  • Review contractor manpower deployment, material availability, equipment utilization, and work schedules.
  • Conduct periodic performance review meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate timely approvals and issue resolution.

7. Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE):

  • Lead implementation of the approved Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHSE) Management System across the project.
  • Ensure compliance with client, consultant (CBRE), statutory, and company OHSE requirements.
  • Implement approved OHSE Guidelines, Safety Plans, Permit-to-Work systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping across all work areas.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and corrective actions.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements.

8. Risk Assessment & Safety Management:

  • Prepare and review Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all MEP activities.
  • Ensure implementation of effective risk mitigation measures.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Prepare Monthly OHSE Reports and safety performance dashboards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety KPIs and statutory reporting requirements.

9. Training & Safety Awareness:

  • Organize and conduct safety induction and awareness training for project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and workers.
  • Promote safety culture through regular toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure competency development for safe execution of MEP activities.
  • Maintain records of all safety training conducted at site.

10. Safety Committee & Compliance:

  • Organize and conduct Monthly Safety Committee Meetings.
  • Prepare Safety Committee Agenda and Minutes of Meetings (MOM).
  • Track closure of safety observations and action points.
  • Assist the Project Manager in all OHSE-related responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations and client safety requirements.

11. Stakeholder Management:

  • Coordinate effectively with project management, consultants, architects, civil teams, vendors, contractors, authorities, and hospital representatives.
  • Present project updates during review meetings.
  • Support management in technical decision-making and project planning.

12. Other Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings before execution.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between MEP and Civil works.
  • Monitor installation quality and commissioning readiness.
  • Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and final handover activities.
  • Support procurement, contracts, planning, and finance teams on technical matters.
  • Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by management.
