- Position Summary
The Senior Engineer – VAVE is responsible for executing Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) projects that deliver product cost optimization while maintaining product functionality, quality, reliability, compliance, and customer value. The role involves identifying and implementing cost-out opportunities through design improvements, material optimization, supplier collaboration, benchmarking, and engineering innovation across multiple product categories inside Faucets & Kitchen Sinks line Including but not limited to Kitchen & Lav Faucets/Valving/Performance Showering/Sinks etc.
- Key Responsibilities
- VAVE Project Execution
- Execute VAVE projects through defined stage-gate/exit-gate processes from ideation to implementation.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement cost reduction opportunities through competitive benchmarking, teardown activities, supplier suggestions, and opportunity programs.
- Develop engineering solutions that balance cost, quality, manufacturability, and customer requirements.
- Support Request for Engineering Action (REA) execution and change management activities.
- Drive project timelines, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment to ensure successful implementation.
- Product Design & Creo Expertise
- Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation using PTC Creo.
- Generate and evaluate alternate design concepts for cost optimization.
- Perform solid modeling, drafting, GD&T application, tolerance reviews, and design modifications.
- Support engineering validation through simulations, design reviews, and prototype evaluations.
- Manage design release activities through Windchill and SAP systems.
- Design-to-Cost & Cost Engineering
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Design-to-Cost (DTC) principles.
- Analyze product BOMs and identify high-impact cost reduction opportunities.
- Perform cost-benefit analysis for design alternatives, material substitutions, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with sourcing and suppliers to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Support should-costing and cost estimation activities to improve savings accuracy.

- VAVE Kaizen & Innovation Activities
- Actively participate in VAVE Kaizen events, teardown workshops, benchmarking exercises, and ideation sessions.
- Facilitate generation of innovative cost reduction ideas through cross-functional collaboration.
- Support implementation of ideas generated from Kaizen and supplier VAVE activities.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices across VAVE programs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Testing, and Program Management teams.
- Coordinate engineering change activities and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Present technical and financial recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Collaborate with global teams and external partners for project execution.

- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, VAVE methodology, and continuous improvement tools is preferred.
