Senior Data Scientist

1. About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Science team at BAXTER India. This strategic role will be instrumental in transforming our business functions through Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and data-driven insights.

As a key member of Data Science team, you will leverage cutting-edge data science techniques to optimize financial forecasting, enhance budget planning accuracy, and drive strategic decision-making across the organization. Your work will directly impact BAXTER's financial performance and operational excellence in the healthcare sector.

2. Key Responsibilities

Financial Analytics Forecasting

. Develop and maintain advanced predictive models for Sales , revenue forecasting, expense management, and cash flow optimization

. Build automated model and reporting systems using AI

. Design variance analysis frameworks to identify key drivers of financial performance

. Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling for strategic initiatives

. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders

. Establish data quality standards and governance frameworks for financial analytics

. Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging AI/data science technologies

. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of data-driven decision making

. Partner with business leaders to translate complex financial data into actionable insights

3. Qualifications

a) Experience

. Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in AI/Data Science.

. At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in building AI /ML models for Financial Planning Analysis or Corporate Finance domain.

. Proven track record of design and delivering production-grade AI/ML projects in enterprise environments for finance.

. Experience working with large-scale financial datasets and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday).

. Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Finance, IT, and Business teams.

. Hands-on experience in designing and deploying forecasting (Statistical and ML based) applied to financial metrics.

. Proven experience in designing and deploying production-ready solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).

b) Core Technical Skills

. Programming Languages: Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn), SQL (advanced proficiency required).

. Machine Learning: Regression, Classification, Forecasting, Clustering, Ensemble Methods.

. Deep Learning: TensorFlow/PyTorch for NLP and predictive modeling applications.

. Data Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly .

. Agentic AI - Implementation of agentic ai workflow.

. Cloud platforms :AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI experience.

c) Domain Experience

. Strong understanding of Finance and FPA processes: Forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling.

. Knowledge of financial statements (PL, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and key metrics.

. Experience with healthcare/pharmaceutical industry financial operations (preferred).

. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data privacy requirements in healthcare industry/ finance.

. Ability to explain complex ML model outputs to cross functional teams and stakeholders without black box ambiguity.

d) Education

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (required).

4. Nice to Have

. Experience with healthcare industry-specific challenges with FPA domain Knowledge .

. Experience in agile/scrum methodologies and project management.

. Strong business acumen with ability to translate core technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
