About this Opportunity
As a Senior Art Director within Target Creatives TCIN Creative (Brand Design Lab), you will lead the development of compelling photography and visual storytelling that brings Targets owned brands to life. You will partner with cross-functional creative teams to create inspiring imagery that strengthens brand identity, connects with guests, and supports key business priorities across multiple categories.
In this role, you will champion Targets visual standards, ensuring every image reflects the unique personality of each owned brand while maintaining consistency across photography style guides, art direction principles, and creative systems. Through thoughtful concept development, creative strategy, trend and category research, mood boards, and visual exploration, you will craft distinctive creative solutions that balance strategic objectives with elevated artistic execution. As a hands-on creative leader, you will own the end-to-end photography creative process from interpreting creative briefs and developing concepts to directing visual execution, reviewing imagery, and delivering polished creative assets. Working closely with Associate creative director, Art directors, stylists, 3D artists, retouchers, and creative partners across the U.S. and India, you will ensure every image meets the highest standards of quality, storytelling, and Target brand excellence.
You will embrace innovation as an integral part of the creative process, thoughtfully leveraging AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to accelerate ideation, concept visualization, and creative exploration while ensuring all final imagery reflects authentic, human-centered storytelling and unmistakable Target brand expression. Roles and Responsibilities
- Creative Excellence Brand Stewardship
- Lead the creative development of photography and visual storytelling that brings Targets owned brands to life and supports key business priorities.
- Champion Targets visual identity by ensuring all creative work aligns with brand standards while evolving the creative expression through thoughtful art direction and innovation.
- Translate consumer, category, and trend insights into compelling visual concepts that strengthen brand storytelling and guest engagement.
- Deliver imagery that balances creative excellence, strategic intent, and commercial impact across multiple channels.
- End-to-End Creative Ownership
- Own the creative process from brief interpretation and concept development through art direction, image review, and final asset delivery.
- Partner with producers, stylists, 3D artists, retouchers, and cross-functional teams across the U.S. and India to deliver best-in-class photography and visual assets.
- Present creative work with clarity, communicate the strategic rationale behind creative decisions, and incorporate feedback to elevate final outcomes.
- Ensure every creative deliverable meets Targets standards for visual quality, consistency, and storytelling.
- Innovation, Collaboration Growth

Preferred Experience Educational Profile
- 5+ years of experience in art direction, photography, or visual storytelling within an in-house creative team, brand, or agency environment.
- Bachelors degree in Design, Visual Communication, Photography, Fine Arts, or an equivalent creative discipline.
- Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking, photography art direction, visual storytelling, brand campaigns, and image creation across digital and print platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Keynote, and familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and emerging visualization technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate creative ideas and influence cross-functional partners.
