SQL Server Database Administrator (L3)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure cloud platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and Azure SQL technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize SQL Server database performance in a 24x7 rotational support environment.
• Implement, manage, and support Always On Availability Groups, SQL Server Replication, and Clustering solutions.
• Administer and troubleshoot Managed and Unmanaged Azure SQL Databases.
• Support SQL-based solutions across Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Implement database security, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell scripting and DevOps practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for database-related issues.
• Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support deployments and database optimization.
• Plan and execute SQL Server migrations, upgrades, installations, patching, and troubleshooting across multiple SQL Server versions.
• Ensure database availability, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server administration across multiple versions.
• Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
• Deep knowledge of:
• Always On Availability Groups
• SQL Server Clustering
• SQL Server Replication
• Experience managing Azure SQL databases (IaaS and PaaS).
• Good understanding of Azure SaaS integration models for SQL-based applications.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
• Experience in backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability planning.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with AWS and OCI database environments.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with database monitoring and automation tools.
